Securing Files and Personal Photos Forever – The Simple Solution

When it comes to the blockchain, enterprises speak the most about its complex utility functions. That makes sense given, the blockchain creates transparent, multi-party transactions that can streamline the most complex processes out there. But what about the simple things, like photos, files and important documents?

Supporting complex legal documents, transferring assets, and providing a platform for Smart Contracts is paramount and a must for businesses, big and small, yet all of this business talk is keeping us from understanding the simple applications that can really transform our day-to-day business and our personal lives.

A picture says a thousand words, and the photos we hold dear tell the stories of our most cherished memories, friendships, and family members. Just last week, my wife went to get her phone repaired, only to have every last photo wiped from her iPhone. This got me thinking about the simple utilities of the blockchain. On the blockchain, where all files and photos become immutable, this never would have happened!

Think about it, where are all of your pictures stored? On your computer, where a computer crash can wipe-out those memories? On your cell phone? How about the ones that are in a tub or a box at your house? We’re all just one slip-up, one accident, or in my wife’s case, one download away from saying holy @!x#%@!! everything’s gone!

Last week, my neighbor also experienced a devastating week in his business. With all of the talk about hacking and securing documents most businesses don’t think about what could happen to those clunky metal file cabinets that hold important contracts and documents. When my neighbor’s office basement flooded, guess where those filing cabinets were? You guessed it, with over 5 feet of water and sludge that blew-open a metal door, the majority of paper files were ruined, including every contract, and everything that is important to his business. If only he could go back in time and put these files on the blockchain, they would be available at his fingertips now and forever.

…All of this business talk is keeping us from understanding the simple applications that can really transform our day-to-day business and our personal lives.TWEET THISThe blockchain is often revered as a solution to fraud and identity damage, but come to think of it, it can even be a shield against water damage, lost photos, and the simplest things that could ruin our day or have an impact on our businesses.

With the introduction of the future BCERTin appin late September, users will be able to secure their most important memories and contracts close, and their sense of security even closer.
